These were a set of conceptual magazine designs for Ping GPS, a global positioning system-based cell phone manufacturer. The idea was to take real world locations and overlay the digital world pieces that we recognize on computer generated maps, the yellow line of your defined path, a red star and the pixelated word “end.” The idea was to show that Ping’s GPS units get you to where you need to go with as little effort on your part. The basis of the concept came from the old saying “no matter where you go, there you are.” With the Ping GPS, you’re always going to get where you need to go.
